Power Generation | Project Engineer

What You’ll Do
• Works closely with SME’s and Project Engineers to ensure that project application design is accurate and fit for purpose according to customer requirements.
• Ensures the adherence of all project designs to the relevant quality, safety, environmental and legalisation standards;
• Analysis of client system load profiles and electrical plant characteristics to determine sizing of power generation packages;
• Analysis and interpretation of electrical drawings to determine parameters for safe and efficient connection of power packages to customers’ electrical distribution systems;
• Perform electrical fault level calculations and protection studies for MV/HV;
• Compilation of engineering design reports for submission to clients and management;
• Liaise with client’s technical staff and visit potential job sites, as required, to verify project needs;
• Preparation of Project Design Pack documentation (technical reports, calculation briefs, scope of work, distribution schemes, single line diagrams, lists of quantities, specifications, documentation of approvals, etc) for inclusion in sales proposals and project contractual documentation;
• Compilation of electrical and mechanical systems schematic drawings using CAD or other electrical design tools;
• Specification and procurement of engineering equipment;
• Advise Sales team on project specific design issues and propose engineering solutions;
• Gives engineering assistance as required to Operational Projects;
• Capture projects lessons learned to contribute to Operations excellence;
• By example, set the highest possible standards in promotion of HS&E culture, ensuring compliance with Aggreko QHSE policy;
• Participate to regional initiatives and technical capabilities improvement to assist with achieving business targets;
• Support Aggreko sector specialization approach by contributing to sectors regulatory watch and technical/technological transformation mapping.
