Senior Accountant

Job description
• Senior Accountant Contract-to-Hire $80-+0K Chula Vista, CA

We are working with a rapidly growing home building company in Chula Vista to hire a Senior Accountant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and financial reporting, with specific experience in the real estate and home building industry.

Responsibilities:
• Manage all aspects of accounting for real estate investment projects, land development, and home-building, including AP, AR, GL, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Perform financial analysis and prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance reports.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
• Coordinate and manage audits and tax filings.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions.
• Assist in the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems and controls.
• Provide support to project managers and other team members as needed.
• Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in real estate investment, land development, or home-building.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks).
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
