Senior Accountant

Job description
We are seeking a Senior Accountant for our Government client. This role is central to our financial operations and requires hands-on experience with financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, general ledger accounting, and reconciliations. This is a contract position that offers the opportunity to contribute to the financial health and success of our organization.

Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain financial statements to track the company's financial health
• Prepare and manage the annual budget and financial forecasts
• Oversee general ledger accounting activities to ensure accuracy and consistency
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and bank reconciliations regularly
• Prepare and post daily journal entries
• Utilize Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting
• Close financial books on a monthly basis
• Prepare and present financial statements, including budgeting and forecasting reports.
