LHH has partnered with a Tacoma-based transportation organization in the search for a Senior Accountant. Our client seeks a seasoned professional with a blend of public and private accounting experience. This exciting opportunity offers a chance to expand into financial planning and analysis and growth into leadership.
Employment Type: Direct hire
Location & Worksite:
• Tacoma, WA
• Hybrid: On-site Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday; remote Monday and Friday (this schedule is fixed and non-negotiable)
Responsibilities:
• Analyze financial information to assess profitability, budget performance, and financial soundness
• Manage monthly financial closing processes, including maintaining the close calendar and posting journal entries
• Review and approve financial transactions within specific limits
• Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls and procedures
• Perform reconciliations and maintain the integrity of balance sheet accounts
• Assist in preparing for and coordinating internal and external audits
• Contribute to financial reporting, including monthly financial statements and intercompany transactions
• Collaborate with operational departments for accurate financial recording
• Update and develop policies and procedures
• Promote a collaborative team environment through open communication and sharing best practices.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience required
• Demonstrated experience with general ledger tasks and maintaining month-end and year-end close processes
• Advanced proficiency in Excel including lookups and pivot tables
Preferred:
• CPA
• Mix of private and public accounting experience
• Proficiency in NetSuite, PowerBI, and/or SQL
Salary, Benefits, & Perks:
• Salary: $82,000 to $104,000
• Paid time off and holidays
