Job Description

ENSCO, Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Finance Division at our Vienna, Virginia headquarters.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

External and Government Audit support.

Assisting in month-end closing.

Assisting in month-end consolidated financial statement preparation, review, and distribution.

Performing financial statement variance analysis and explaining fluctuations from month to month, year over year and against budgets.

Ensuring that financial reports adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Cost Accounting Standards.

Conducting accounting research to answer inquiries and applying proper accounting treatment.

Providing responses to other departments inquiries related to financial transactions in a timely manner.

Inventory account reconciliation and review of all balances.

Providing analytical review and support to the Finance division.

Assisting in system automation projects; ensuring that financial systems used are cost effective and efficient and meet the requirements of the Finance division.

Assisting in maintenance of accounting internal controls, policies and procedures. Identifying problems and developing improved processes.

Assisting in maintaining cost pools and adhering to Disclosure Statement.

Assisting in monthly inter-company entries and consolidations.

Ensuring tasks are completed accurately and timely.

Working knowledge of various types of government contracts.

Experience with Equivalent Annual Cost (EAC) review and analysis.

Special projects as directed by the Director of Financial Reporting, Controller or CFO.

Qualifications Required (Skills)
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant government contracts experience
• Knowledge of GAAP, Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Client Accounting Services (CAS)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Excellent Customer Service including positive telephone, email and other communication skills
• Minimum of 3 years of Deltek Costpoint experience

Qualifications Desired
• Master's Degree in Accounting
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CPA candidate
• A candidate seeking to qualify as a CPA is referred to as a CPA candidate. These individuals are required to pass the CPA Exam before seeking licensing.

Division Description

The Finance Division manages all aspects of the company’s long-term financial decisions and activities in order to maintain a healthy financial position. The division implements ENSCO’s accounting practices, maintains its fiscal records, and prepares its financial reports, general ledgers, fixed asset administration, cost accounting, budgetary controls, capital expenditures, and company chart of accounts.
