Senior Accounting Analyst

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Accounting Analyst to join the By Light team. The position will interact with many different parts of the organization including finance, HR, and program management. This is a highly dynamic and visible role for the right candidate with valuable experience only otherwise gained in a rotational program.

Responsibilities

Project Setup:
• Read and understand various By Light contracts, processes, and procedures to appropriately setup contracts in Deltek Costpoint
• Work closely to coordinate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure agreement on key contract terms and conditions for Project setup
• Support monthly close process by monitoring and maintaining contract master data

Payroll / Timesheet Processing
• Assist in the set-up and maintenance of new hires and current employees within Deltek Costpoint with the assistance of HR/Payroll
• Coordinate and review timesheets for completeness and accuracy and contact various department supervisors for missed time during semi-monthly payroll cycle
• Process timesheet corrections as provided by project teams and finance staff

Accounting
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliation for review, and resolve issues as needed
• Analyze monthly general ledger activity and prepare commentary for financial statement review
• Other ad hoc accounting, billing, or reporting duties as assigned

Required Experience/Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
• Two or more years of related accounting experience in the government contracting industry
• Two or more years of Deltek Costpoint experience
• Team player who is organized, proactive, self-directed, conscientious and assumes accountability and responsibility for specific performance and work product
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong computer skills
