Staff Accountant (Lender/AR)

Position Overview:

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for managing the accounting and financial activities related to lending and accounts receivable for a local real estate development firm. This role will involve working with lenders and managing A/R for both commercial and residential projects. The ideal candidate will have experience with funding and financing processes, as well as proficiency in accounting software such as NewStar.

Key Responsibilities:
• Manage the accounts receivable process for commercial and residential projects
• Coordinate with lenders to ensure timely funding for projects
• Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions related to lending and A/R
• Prepare and analyze financial reports, including A/R aging reports and loan summaries
• Collaborate with the construction and development teams to provide financial insights and recommendations
• Process accounts payable for project expenses
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• 1+ year of experience in an accounting role, preferably with a focus on lending and AR
• Experience in construction and real estate industry highly preferred
• Strong understanding of financing and funding processes
• Proficiency in accounting software, specifically NewStar
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
