Location: Denver, CO (Hybrid Work Schedule)

About The Staff Accountant Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support monthly end (ME) close activities. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of experience in a larger company, although candidates with more experience who thrive in this kind of role are also welcome to apply.

Key Staff Accountant Responsibilities
• ME Close Activities (50%):
• Prepare and post journal entries (JE)
• Answer and resolve JE comments
• Conduct thorough ME close preparation
• Manual Data Input (30%):
• Accurate and efficient data entry
• Research & Resolution (20%):
• Answer questions related to accounting processes
• Perform critical thinking and problem-solving
• Conduct research to resolve accounting issues

Staff Accountant Qualifications
• Accounting degree or equivalent experience
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent organizational and documentation skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in an open and friendly team environment
• Proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, SUMIF)
• Experience working with robust workbooks
• Familiarity with accounting principles (debits/credits)
• Software: COUPA, D365 (training provided)
