We are in search of a Sr. Accountant to join our team located in AURORA, Colorado. The Sr. Accountant will play a vital role in maintaining the financial health and integrity of our operations by reconciling account balances, preparing financial statements, assessing internal controls, and supervising accounting staff.
Responsibilities:
• Reconcile sub-ledger to general ledger account balances, ensuring accuracy and completeness
• Prepare financial statements that adhere to standard accounting principles
• Evaluate internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas, to improve operational efficiency
• Provide support in budget preparation and conduct monthly budget variance analyses
• Maintain and reconcile fixed assets schedules for accurate reporting and forecasting
• Assist with initial internal control evaluations to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulations
• Supervise accounting staff, promoting a collaborative and productive work environment
• Utilize accounting software such as Microsoft Excel to perform duties such as generating journal entries and assisting with month-end close
• Use skills in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations to ensure accuracy in all accounting tasks.• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role
• Proficient in Account Reconciliation and Balance Sheet Reconciliation
• Experience with Bank Reconciliations is mandatory
• Must have a strong understanding of General Ledger management
• Able to prepare and analyze Journal Entries
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required
• Familiarity with Month End Close procedures is necessary
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
