Part Time Bookkeeper

Dynamic, highly reputable auto transport company has an opportunity for you to contribute to the strategic development of this organization. Reporting to the Bookkeeper will be responsible for processing financial transactions, assisting with HR functions, and preparing financial reports. If you possess a minimum of 3 - 5 years of accounting experience, as well as a can-do attitude, you may qualify for this position. This position will be part time to start and could eventually lead into a full time position.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Build out and maintain Chart of Accounts (CoA)

Maintains records of financial transactions by establishing accounts; posting transactions and ensuring legal requirements are within compliance.

Responsible for processing accounts payable/receivable, payroll, while managing employee time recording.

Maintains subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions and reconciling entries.

Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries.

Balances general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.

rMaintains historical records by filing documents.

Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.

Performs collections for all past due accounts.

Prepares thorough year end QuickBooks files to Company Accounting Firm.

Manages all HR functions inclusive but not limited to New Hire and Termination process.

Contributes to team effort by holding themselves accountable to achieve desired results.

Maintain good working relationships with all company employees, uses time wisely, and has the ability to switch gears as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications

Three (3) - Five (5) plus years of accounting experience working with yearly revenues, in excess of four (4) million dollars.

3+ years working as a bookkeeper or accountant with revenues of more than $4,000,000.

Basic human resource knowledge and customer service experience.

Associate degree in accounting, finance or related field is required. Bachelor’s degree in business administration or accounting is preferred.

Verifiable expertise with QuickBooks Online (certification is preferred) and Microsoft Office

Products (Word and Excel) is required.

Transportation Industry experience is preferred.

Chart of Accounts (CoA), Payroll, Payroll Taxes, AP/AR, billing, and collections financial analysis, and reconciliations experience required.

Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas.

Generalist experience with administrative and clerical duties.

Strong communication skills in the English language (reading, writing & speaking).

Mathematical abilities at a level required to perform basic business math functions.

Experience computer skills using MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)

Self-motivated with initiative to proactively identify solutions when issues may arise

Effective communication skills to present regular financial progress to the Owner, President.

Collaborative traits to interact with peers across Sales and Operations as well as with CPA.

Ability to work with highly proprietary information keeping utmost confidentiality.
