Accounting Manager (CPA) (201+00-14)

Successful public accounting firm is seeking to add an experienced full-time CPA to their team. This role will perform accounting duties as well as serve as a mentor and supervise the work of staff members to ensure quality control standards and deadlines are met.

Pay

$80,000 to $110,000 a year

Responsibilities
• Manage staff on deliverables; complete reviews to ensure quality control standards are met; ensure on-time delivery and on budget.
• Review GAAP and special purpose framework financial statements.
• Review working papers for accuracy and completeness and financial statements for suitability of presentation and adequacy of disclosures and compliance with quality control document.
• Effectively supervise work assigned to staff members based on their knowledge and capabilities and provide front-end instructions, examples, expectations, real-time feedback and assistance.
• Prepare client billing memorandum; submit invoice draft, together with a comparison of the time budgeted and the time actually spent, to the partner for review and approval.
• Maintain steady contact with clients and work closely with client management groups, attorneys, taxing authority agents, and other parties.
• Lead client meetings and presentations.
• Recognize opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients.
• Develop new client contacts and relationships beneficial to the firm.
• Support and assist in firm administrative functions.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• Current CPA license to practice in good standing.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in recent public accounting with a focus in the areas of professional services, construction, and wholesaling/distribution companies. As well as some leadership experience.
• Working familiarity with the FASB Accounting Standards Codification and guidance provided by the AICPA such as Statements on Standards for Accounting and Review Services and related Interpretations, Code of Professional Conduct, Bylaws, Quality Control, Peer Review, Tax Services, AICPA Industry Audit and Accounting Guides, Alerts, etc.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, accounting and tax and practice management software programs.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
