Job Title: Junior Staff Accountant

Location: Honolulu, HI +681+ (full time, on-site)

Pay Rate: $25-$27/hr

JOB SUMMARY:

The Junior Staff Accountant will perform accounts receivable and accounts payable functions. Under the supervision of our staff accountant or Controller, they will prepare financial reports and reconcile accounts, while ensuring all work complies with state and federal laws, as well as GAAP standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Bank Reconciliation and Accrued Accounts Payable Reconciliation
• Prepare financial reports under the direction of the Senior Accountant
• Issue invoices and collect payments for accounts receivable
• Issue COD checks for local accounts payable and post transactions
• Accurately perform reconciliations for cash, check and credit card transactions and file invoices
• Scan AP checks, credit card batches, and bank deposits into SharePoint
• Verify business credit references and submit findings for credit approval to our accounting team
• Process payroll and post manual payroll checks into Great Plains accounting software
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES:
• Knowledge Generally Accepted Accounting Practices is required.
• Proficiency using computers and MS Office Suite and SharePoint Software is required.
• Proficiency using Excel, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables is required.
• Proficiency using Geat Plains is a plus.
• Detail oriented – able to perform accurate work
• Superior verbal and written communication skills

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
• Associate Degree in Accounting
• 3 years accounting work experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. unassisted
• Repeating motions on a computer that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
• Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing
