Senior Accountant - Contract to Hire

Location: Remote (PST in approved states - California, Oregon, Washington, Hawaii)

Pay Rate: $40-48/hr (flexible for the right candidate)

Team Personality/Culture: Low stress, easy-going team; potential for overtime during month-end close.

Job Summary: The Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in the general ledger, adhering to GAAP and System policies. This role includes analyzing transactions, reconciling accounts, preparing statements, and training team members on systems processes and procedures. The Senior Accountant will also drive productivity improvements and facilitate system changes to enhance efficiency.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Record financial transactions in compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
• Actively participate in month-end close activities and financial analysis.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for accounting and collaborate with other departments.
• Monitor internal controls and SOX compliance, suggesting enhancements.
• Assist with audit preparations and fulfill information requests.
• Undertake moderate to complex special projects as required.

Job Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, or related field OR four (4) years of directly related experience.
• Proficient in GAAP, internal controls, and accounting procedures.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable reports.
• Excellent Excel skills; familiarity with word processing and database applications.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines effectively.
• Flexible approach to handling a variety of accounting functions and adapting to changing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with software conversion in fixed asset models (e.g., OneLink/Oracle GL).
• Background in public accounting and knowledge of SOX compliance.
• CPA designation is desirable but not required.

Pay Details: $30.00 to $35.00 per hour
