COMPANY OVERVIEW

Coin and Professional Equipment Company (C-PEC) is a distributor of commercial laundry equipment for the states of Arizona and New Mexico. C-PEC offers new equipment sales, installation, and service support of equipment, as well as parts for commercial laundry equipment. C-PEC serves industries such as public laundromats, multi-housing properties, assisted living facilities, the hospitality industry, hospitals, and others. C-PEC is considering candidates for the position of Senior General Accountant. The Senior General Accountant is responsible for managing the company’s accounting functions. The Senior General Accountant must be experienced and knowledgeable in proper accounting principles to manage the company’s accounting functions and guide other members of the accounting team. The position is responsible for improving current processes and analyzing accounting data for feedback to management. The position is carried out in C-PEC’s Phoenix office Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4:30 pm. This is not a work remote position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage accounting team
• The Senior General Accountant is responsible for overseeing and mentoring staff level accounting professionals including an accounts payables position, accounts receivables position and two front office receptionists. The Senior General Accountant must be knowledgeable and experienced to guide and direct other team member’s activities. Additional responsibilities will include hiring and training new team members, participating in employee reviews, and other responsibilities.

Position Deliverables
• Manage month and year end accounting processes
• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations
• Manage accounts payable and vendor payments
• Monitor the company budget
• Monitor the company's cash flow statement
• Create and manage control procedures
• Analyze current procedures and reporting and recommend changes to develop and implement best practices
• Identify balance sheet errors and improper or misclassified operating expense activity

Analysis
• Proficiency with financial statement analysis and projection
• Review balance sheet and operating expense fluctuations
• Review income statement and balance sheet analytics and provide input on fluctuations
• Support company management and company departments by contributing to and providing financial analyses, modeling, and recommendations to support evaluation of different business options

Reporting
• Support company engaged CPA in preparations of tax filings
• Monthly and annual financial statement preparation and analysis
• Contribute to the company's annual budget preparation and forecasts
• Report status of finances to management

Systems
• Become familiar with and utilize Spire Business Management Software, C-PEC’s system for all accounting activities including financial statements, inventory management and other functions

SKILLS
• Ability to teach and lead others
• Good communicator
• Comfortable with technology and able to learn new Spire Business Management Software
• Proficiency in MS Excel
• Strong analytical capabilities

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university
• 8+ years of experience in various accounting positions including management
• Accounting experience within a distribution environment is preferred
