About

Flake & Company history dates to 1+32, with over ninety years of excellence in commercial property sales, development, leasing and management. Timely and accurate financial reporting is absolutely critical. We are a group of visionaries, who need a Property Accountant who is a team player and can work independently and reliably produce monthly financial reports to accurately report investment performance to our clients.

Responsibilities and Skills

Knowledge of Yardi and ability to learn accounting systems.

· Prepare monthly operating statements to report property financial performance to owners by a set deadline of the following month. (This includes rent rolls, balance sheets, income statements, budget variance reports, general ledgers, trial balances, accounts receivable, Aged payables, bank reconciliations, and check registers.)

· Enter and process all invoices to ensure they are paid in a timely manner.

· Receive and process all receivables as soon as received, deposit and keep accounting software up to date as possible with accurate account balances.

· Calculate and charge annual CPI increases where required.

· Ensure that monthly property statements comply with client requirements.

· Collaborate monthly with management team to analyze cash needs for capital calls and distributions; capital expenditures, loan payments, property taxes, and insurance.

· Coordinate with property management team regarding lease administration and accounts receivable.

· Complete annual operating expense reconciliations for tenant billing and payment.

· Oversee and pay all property taxes, franchise fees, and other regulatory fees.

· Prepare final packages to send to client or property CPA at year-end; make adjustments as required.

· Calculate and bill various utility and other additional tenant or owner responsibility expenses.

· Ability to work independently on property accounting and potentially lead accounting process.

Experience

· Work from office; hours 8AM-5 PM, Monday through Friday.

· Three years industry experience in commercial real estate management accounting or five years in related accounting field.

· Bachelor or Associate degree in Accounting, preferred. Equivalent experience considered.
