Senior Staff Accountant

Job description
Arkansas Talent Group is proud to partner with an international manufacturing company in Batesville, AR to help them find a Senior Staff Accountant. This fantastic opportunity has opened up due to an internal promotion within our client's team. The role will handle month-end, general ledger, and reconciliations, and prepare financial reports to track the organizations assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.

Duties will include:
• Performs general cost accounting, including creating standard costs and manufacturing cost rates, and other related duties in the accounting department
• Maintains the general ledger
• Creates yearly budgets and forecasts customer shipments
• Manages fixed assets books
• Prepares periodic (monthly) analysis reports, balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements
• Reconciles accounts and closes the monthly books
• Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks
• Reconciles customer accounts and manages accounts receivable collections
• Creates and verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts
• Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit
• Files required tax forms with foreign and domestic government agencies

Ideal candidate will possess:
• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required
• 3+ years of accounting experience required
• Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting
• Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles
• Highly proficient with accounting software
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
