Description

We have an opening for an Accountant - Client Accounting & Advisory Services in our Westchester, IL office.

Position Overview

We are a Chicagoland-based CPA firm with offices in Chicago & Westchester, IL, Schererville, IN and Edina, MN. Our firm specializes in audit, accounting and tax services to employee benefit plans, labor organizations, not-for-profit organizations, commercial and governmental entities. In this position, you will be primarily responsible for a range of monthly, quarterly and annual bookkeeping functions for not-for-profit clients.

Primary Responsibilities
• Client bookkeeping services:
• Record periodic transactions to include receipts and disbursements, including management of receivables and payables
• Reconcile and analyze accounts
• Prepare periodic financial reports
• Maintain chart of accounts
• Execute journal entries
• Payroll tax return preparation: federal, state, unemployment including annual W2s and 10++s
• Periodic payroll processing to include employee deduction setups and direct deposit
• Other Services
• Audit: coordinate with internal/external auditors for year-end audit
• Year-End: Record additional accruals/receivables as required for year-end
• Budget: Support in the development and analysis of annual organizational budget, and develop related custom reports
• Client support for QuickBooks software
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
• Minimum of an Associate Degree in Accounting/Business Administration or equivalent experience is required
• A minimum of two years experience with QuickBooks bookkeeping software is required, with some familiarity with QuickBooks Online preferred
• Payroll processing and payroll tax return preparation experience is required
• Demonstrate strong time management skills
• Two years of hands-on experience with Word and Excel is preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills are required
• Ability to travel to clients offices around Chicago-land and Northwest Indiana
