Koons and Koons CPA, Inc is a well-established accounting firm dedicated to delivering top-notch accounting and tax services to our diverse clientele. We are a looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role located in Elkhart, IN for a Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for various day-to-day accounting tasks, including financial record-keeping, preparing financial statements, and assisting with tax preparation and planning.

Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
• Perform reconciliations of bank statements, accounts, and other financial data.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and accounting standards.
• Assist with tax preparation and planning, including individual and business tax returns.
• Participate in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
• Provide exceptional client service and respond to client inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

Qualifications
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work well in a team as well as individually, and meet deadlines
• Assocate's / Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• 3-5 years of accounting experience preferred.
