Job description
Our team has an employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Accountant in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa area. This role involves carrying out general accounting tasks, processing invoices for payment, and preparing and uploading journal entries. You will be required to ensure all accounting transactions are recorded accurately and timely, and reconcile, investigate, correct, and adjust accounting information in accordance with deadlines.

Responsibilities:

• Process invoices for payment as part of Accounts Payable work

• Carry out accounting work, including the preparation and uploading of journal entries

• Ensure all accounting transactions are accurately and timely recorded

• Reconcile, investigate, correct, and adjust accounting information to meet set deadlines

• Use Microsoft Excel for tasks requiring pivot tables and other functionalities

• Handle general accounting knowledge and effectively communicate details

• Maintain an organized work process, particularly with accounting functions

• Take responsibility for financial notes and other related tasks.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with pivot tables

• Experience with accounts payable (AP) procedures

• Ability to process invoices and maintain accurate journal entries

• Understanding of financial notes and their role in accounting

• Ability to perform various accounting functions efficiently

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
