Sr. Accountant – REMOTE

(MUST live in either Mountain or Central time zones)

A boutique bookkeeping and consultancy firm is seeking a senior accountant to join its team. The Senior Accountant will work from home and collaborate with our other associates who also work remotely.

Our client base is growing rapidly and needs someone who loves to be challenged, embraces change, and is an excellent multitasker. The successful candidate will have a “can do” attitude and enjoy providing an excellent client experience. This is a great opportunity to join a small, collaborative company where you won’t feel like just another cog in the wheel! This position will remotely oversee multiple clients and support and eventually manage our team of bookkeepers. Prior people management experience is a must!

Senior Accountant Qualifications
• 10 + years of accounting/bookkeeping experience in a smaller company or as a consultant
• Strong full-cycle accounting/bookkeeping skills, including:
• Banking and Cash management
• Bank reconciliation
• Payroll and Payroll posting
• AP/AR
• Payment of state and local taxes and corresponding calculation
• Strong understanding of P/L and Balance sheet
• Managing fixed asset schedules
• Proficient in QuickBooks Online, Excel, and other accounting software such as Ajera.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accrual accounting
• Understanding of businesses and their accounting practices across different industries
• Multi-tasking ability between different companies
• Self-motivated and able to work independently

Preferred Experience/qualifications
• Current CPA license
• Supervisory experience
• Experience with the professional service industry. Experience with the Architecture or Engineering industry is a plus.
• Accounting degree preferred
• Experience with Ajera – Deltek Software is a plus.

This is not a tax firm but one that focuses on providing bookkeeping and consulting services. This position can potentially grow into a controller role as the company grows. Understanding how business run and problem-solving are important to succeed in this position and advance. You will be active in day-to-day operations and managing the timeliness and accuracy of the services provided.

Compensation: $30-40/hr. DOE
