3K - $105K a year 12 days ago 12 days ago 12 days ago Position Summary The Director of Fiscal Services/Controller works with the CFO to coordinate Cass Health's accounting and financial services to ensure services are provided accurately, timely and follow the proper internal controls.
Supervises the activities related to accounting, accounts payable, budgeting, financial analysis, third-party reimbursement, and auditing.

Previous hospital/healthcare experience Essential Job Functions Develops and administers accounting and internal control policies and systems and addresses related policy/system issues in conjunction with the Chief Financial Officer.
Directs and participates in the development and execution of appropriate strategies and action plans to ensure effective integration of the fiscal services department functions with those of other hospital departments.
Completes/oversees monthly bank reconciliations, general ledger entries, and generation of financial reports in preparation for the month end closing process according to established procedures.
Ensures proper statistics are being kept monthly in preparation for year-end cost report and creates related reports.
Prepares draft monthly financials for CFO review and presents the financials to the Board in the absence of the CFO.
Reconciles G/L accounts and ensures asset & liability accounts are balanced monthly.
Provides advice and assistance to department directors and managers in analyzing and interpreting financial data and reports.
Directs and participates in the preparation of the budget.
Reviews and analyzes budget performance, identifies variances, and ensures effective cost control.
Ensures that accurate information is provided in a timely manner and coordinates the efficient conduct of the annual operating and capital budgets, external audits, examinations, and other financial projects.
Assists CFO with evaluation of hospital investments and the development of strategies to maximize financial returns.
Supervises and reviews work done in the general ledger and accounting systems to ensure functions are performed in a timely, accurate, and appropriate manner.
Continuously seeks opportunities to enhance the process, reduce expenses or other operational efficiencies.
Implements new processes as required.
Manages completion of year-end reporting (i.
e.
- W-2s, 10++s, etc.
) to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Ensures that staff performs assigned work in an accurate, timely, and consistent manner.
Ensures that financial statements, statistical reports, budget reports, payroll reports, and other assigned reports are prepared accurately and submitted on time.
Maintains current knowledge of the changing healthcare environment through reading, continuing education, and related activities.
Is knowledgeable regarding Cost Report issues as applicable to Critical Access Hospital status.
Performs all other duties as assigned by the CFO.
