Southworth International Group, Inc., located in Falmouth, Maine, has an immediate opening for a Senior Accountant.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant with 3-5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in public accounting, to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment, on a global scale, while enjoying the benefits of working for a family-owned mid-sized business just a stone’s throw from Portland, Maine.

Responsibilities
• Prepare financial statements and analysis.
• Analyze financial reports.
• Cost accounting and analysis in a manufacturing environment
• Maintain existing company accounting procedures and processes and develop procedures to improve department efficiencies.
• Comply with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements.
• Assist Finance Manager in preparing documents and interpreting complicated financial information for managers, executives.
• Support annual financial statement audit.
• Manage general ledger and assist month-end/year-end close processes, including review of journal entries and reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with all internal processes.
• Support quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting processes.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, sales, and other departments.

Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• 3-5 years accounting experience required, preferably public accounting.
• Manufacturing and ERP system experience preferred.
• Excellent computer skills; Intermediate Microsoft Excel User
• Proficiency with accounting software
• Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Tableau Experience preferred.
• Ability to effectively communicate financial information with multiple levels of the organization.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
