Job Description: The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for managing and processing all aspects of the accounts payable function. This role requires a high level of accuracy, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in the construction or flooring industry and possess a solid understanding of accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities
• Process and review invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
• Match purchase orders, receiving documents, and invoices.
• Prepare and perform check runs, wire transfers, and ACH payments.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate and organized vendor files and records.
• Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve payment issues in a timely manner.
• Assist with month-end closing and accrual processes.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely processing of accounts payable transactions.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 3 years of accounts payable experience, preferably in the construction or flooring industry.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• High level of integrity and professionalism.
• Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance requirements.
