Senior|Staff Accountant

Job description
A publicly traded, industry leading waste management company has an opening for a Senior/Staff Accountant to join their team in either Peabody, MA. The Senior/Staff Accountant will report to the Controller & have the primary responsibility of managing daily and monthly accounting and FP&A functions on a divisional level for the firm. The Senior/Staff Accountant will also get involved with monitoring policies and procedures per assigned market area and suggesting improvements for reporting and recording to meet business needs.

The role requires someone to be local to be the Boston area and will be in the office a few days each week.

Job Description
• Manages records of account entries by compiling and analyzing accounting activities.
• Maintains and prepares financial statements and other documents regarding the divisions financial position in order to provide reports and audits when needed.
• Reviews financial statements for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with all accounting standards.
• Completes the entry of payroll change requests to keep up with staffing changes throughout the division.
• Contributes to the development and review of annual budgets and performance projections to help increase company growth.
• Supports the Division Controller, Assistant Division Controller and Operations Management to successfully and efficiently complete financial projects.
• Participates in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company and its products and services.
• Participation in completing and analyzing financial models to gain contracts.

Job Requirements
• Strong budgeting/forecasting experience
• Bachelor’s Degree
• 2+ years of experience
• Master’s in accounting, finance or BA
• CPA, public accounting
• NetSuite
• Industry experience
