Tax Preparer

Job description
We are a leading tax services firm & is currently seeking new or experienced individuals with a minimum of 1 year of tax preparation experience for a role as a tax prep. Preferably for individuals in the Massachusetts area. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to our dynamic team while working as an independent contractor (10++).

Position: Tax Preparer

Location: Hybrid
• Conduct comprehensive client interviews to collect necessary financial information and documentation.
• Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses.
• Ensure accurate and timely entry of tax-related data into our systems.
• Perform data validation and reconciliation to maintain data integrity.
• Stay current with tax laws and regulations to ensure accurate and compliant filings.
• Provide excellent customer service, addressing client inquiries related to tax matters.
• Collaborate with team members to share knowledge and best practices.

Qualifications:
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation.
• Willing to learn and get trained if brand new.
• Valid PTIN (Preparer Tax Identification Number).
• Have Tax clients already or willing to bring on new clients
• Basic knowledge on marketing preferred but not required.
• Proficient preferred but not required in tax preparation software (e.g., Intuit, TaxProLink, Drake).
• Strong knowledge of current tax laws and regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• In the Massachusetts area preferred but not required.

Compensation:

This is a 10++ independent contractor position. Compensation will be based on experience and agreed-upon terms.
