Job Description

The Director of Finance and Accounting will be responsible for providing strategic financial leadership and overseeing all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis for our various holdings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and hold a CPA certification.

Responsibilities:
• Lead the finance and accounting function for our various business interests, including real estate properties, lending ventures, and other investments
• Mentor, coach and develop staff to perform day-to-day accounting functions, including payroll, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliation, and preparation of accurate and timely financial statements
• Monitor banking activity, track budgets and forecasts, and prepare financial analyses to support decision-making and strategic planning
• Work with company leadership to develop business strategies to optimize the financial performance of the organization
• Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and maintain the integrity of financial reporting
• Collaborate with tax advisors, legal counsel, and company leadership on financial, legal and tax matters
• Provide financial insight and recommendations to enhance business growth and profitability
• Collaborate with others, such as Property Management/Leasing and Construction to streamline organization and communication
• Support with financial/accounting projects, reports and tasks as needed

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required; CPA certification is required
• 5-10 years of progressive experience in accounting
• Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards (GAAP)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks and related accounting software
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively
• interact with leadership, team members, and external partners
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing business requirements
• Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making
• Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills
