SENIOR INVESTMENT ACCOUNTANT

Our client is a reputable, well-established company and a leader within their industry. The company is seeking a qualified and motivated accounting professional.

Requirements:
• 4+ years of increased responsibility within public accounting, real estate investment or property accounting environments
• Real Estate, Property Management or Investment Management industry experience is ideal
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• Conceptual knowledge of GAAP
• CPA or public accounting experience preferred.
• Understanding financial statement relationships between balance sheet, income and cash flow statements
• Investment Accounting, experience with accounting for investments or accounting for a portfolio of investments
• Equity Accounting; should be able to record or account for other companies, subsidiaries, or entities within parent company portfolio
• Debt Accounting, ideally execute the accounting for or tracking of some entity’s debt including loans or other forms of borrowing
• Intercompany eliminations – accounting for transactions that parent companies may remove before preparing the consolidated financial statements
• Knowledge of consolidated accounting practices.
• Strong Microsoft Excel user

Job Description:
• Prepare monthly GL account analysis and follow up on any necessary adjustments.
• Prepare monthly financial statements including balance sheets, income statements and statements of cash flows.
• Reviews and posts journal entries
• Performs month-end closing duties.
• Prepares year end workpapers.
• Prepare and research certain monthly bank reconciliations.
• Special projects as needed.
• Work toward continual improvement of the overall organization
• Preparation and execution of Intercompany general ledger and subledger schedules
• Audit support
• Covenant calculations for Debt
• Complete ad-hoc analysis related to deal transactions and monitoring (due to and due from)
• Accounting and workpapers for all entity wide companies
• Preparing Quarterly Investment/Equity elimination schedules
