Purpose of Job

The incumbent will be responsible for the field operations of the Social and Health Entrepreneur(SHE) livelihood programme of the OLA Foundation.

She is expected to work directly with the community to implement the Social and Health Entrepreneur (SHE) programme, this includes guiding SHE to the screening of anemia, hypertension, and diabetes, conducting counseling for strengthening adolescent health, menstrual hygiene, and NCD management to the family members of the assigned geography, ensure the quality of the services provide by SHE, impart capacity building for SHE on health screening, telemedicine, safety standards and usage of consumables

Essential Qualifications & Experience
• BSc Nursing, Diploma in Nursing, GNM
• 2-3 years of relevant experience in nursing includes - clinical work, pre-clinical preparation, adherence to safety standards, understanding symptoms of diseases, anthropometric measurement, and first aid
• Certification in Basic Life Support (preferable)
• Should be registered with Karnataka State Nursing Council (must) and Indian Nursing Council (preferable) Essential Experience
• Experience in working with or in a community
• Should have had hands-on field experience

Essential Skills
• Patient assessment and medication management
• Knowing how to do diabetes, hypertension, and anemia screening
• Keen interest and ability to work with women & community members
• Motivated to work in remote areas, willing to travel and stay in the community, as and when required
• Flexibility in working hours based on the community’s need
• Skills for training and capacity building of SHEs
• Proficiency in English is a must. Proficiency in either Tamil or Kannada is a must too. Knowledge of Telugu will be an added advantage.
• Experience in community mobilization
• Computer Skills : MS Office, GSuite
• Basic digital proficiency and ability to operate a smartphone
• Access to a two-wheeler and a driving license (mandatory)
• Is a self-starter and a good team player
• High level of integrity and accountability
• Good interpersonal and communication skills

Key Roles / Responsibilities
• Ensure successful implementation, quality, and consistency of OLA Foundation’s SHE Program
• Assist in the identification and selection of Social & Health Entrepreneurs (SHE)
• Provide guidance and support to Social & Health Entrepreneurs (SHE) to do the screening for anemia, hypertension, and diabetes
• Instruct Social & Health Entrepreneurs (SHE) to conduct counseling for strengthening adolescent health, menstrual hygiene, and NCD management to the family members of the assigned geography
• Independently conduct counseling for strengthening adolescent health, menstrual hygiene, and NCD management to the family members
• Monitor the health screening, telemedicine & counseling conducted by SHEs in the field
• Assess and identify the training needs of the Social & Health Entrepreneurs (SHE)
• Organize the orientation and training programs, both offline and online for the Social & Health Entrepreneurs (SHE)
• Provide inputs to the research team as and when it is required
• Manage relations with Community members, AWW workers, ASHA workers, SHG groups, community influencers, and Health administrators of the assigned Territory
• Hold periodic community meetings / community mobilization events in assigned geography with the support of SHE and Field Associate
• Collect and manage feedback about SHEs from the community
• Provide timely reports
• Be the brand ambassador of the OLA Foundation
