Fashion cum Print Assistant Designer

We are seeking a talented and versatile individual to join our team as a Fashion & Print Designer. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of textile and printing technical details and a keen eye for current fashion trends. In addition to creating captivating designs, this role involves executing the sampling process, managing timelines, and overseeing materials sourcing. The candidate will also create engaging social media posts and collaborate with influencers.

Job Description:

Concept Evolution & Fashion Forecasting
• Analyze the market and monitor current fashion trends, collections, customer preferences, and competitor activities.
• Plan and create new designs along with approval from the Creative head for the look of the season/special collection/events, etc.
• Promote out-of-the-box thinking for product innovations that align with brand philosophy.
• Set clearly defined guidelines and plan the design range per the sales budget.
• To create concepts / Mood boards/ trend boards.
• Create themes for different seasons and provide the season’s theme brief to the marketing and visual merchandising team
• Negotiate with suppliers for cost-effective solutions.
• Sourcing, selecting and buying fabrics, trims, fastenings and embellishments.
• Visit exhibitions, museums and events related to Fashion, Art and Design fairs/ Markets to keep up-to-date on the latest fabrics/ silhouettes and garment trends.
• To educate the store staff about the product and create presentations.

Print Design
• Excellent with free-flow sketches on given concepts for block print design developments, preferably floral designs. Ability to work under high work pressure.
• Eye for detail with excellent knowledge of colour combinations.
• Should have good knowledge of block printing and dabu printing to create new concept samples and the productions.
• Should be able to set embroidery designs using different techniques and colourways.
• Must be experienced in setting Khakas, should have technical knowledge about khaka construction, creating & maintaining it.

Apparel Design & Development
• Coordinate and be in charge of a Team of Pattern makers, Tailors, cutting masters, etc, for sample making and end-to-end coordination for final production.
• Coordination with the vendors at different stages of sampling
• Cluster visits for product development for specific crafts
• Regular and Timely visits to vendors to check on samples under construction.
• Review samples on models to secure good fits.
• Ensure the desirable level of design approval ratio and give regular feedback to make clear decisions on the design range.
• Creating artworks/sketches by hand or on computers- Sketch rough and detailed drawings of apparel or textiles and write specifications such as techniques, colour schemes, construction, material types, accessory requirements and specific measurements required.

Social Media and Influencer Engagement:
• Create captivating social media posts and design creatives and videos.
• Develop content for posting and actively engage in influencer activities.

Order Management:
• Prepare order costing and price quoting
• Create order sheets, bill of materials, and purchase orders
• Order all raw materials from fabrics to trims, including packing materials.

Qualifications & Experience
• 2-4 years of experience in fashion & print design in Retail,Apparel manufacturing Or Craft Sector.
• Proven experience with expertise in Women's wear,Mens wear and Kidswear.
• Bachelors/Masters in Fashion Design from NIFT/NID/PEARL ACADEMY

Technical Skills
• Proficient with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Rush and Coral Draw
• Good technical knowledge of garment construction and finish
• Good at Sketching with an excellent sense of color

Salary: Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 40,000 per month as per relevant experience
