Job description
Junior Design EngineerJob Responsibilities :-Design/ Engineering and development of cutting tools 3D Models. 2D Drawings, BoMs etc.Research and draft blueprints, engineering plans, and graphics.Conceives and provides practical product design applications using complex technical principles. Emphasis of this position is on creating concepts and directing the design and development of complex engineering projects. Prepares concept, design, development, and feasibility studies of complex engineering projects. Delegates portions of the project to other engineers and leads and coordinates the design, analysis, and computer simulation effort. Prepares development plans and is responsible for meeting scheduled dates. Acts as the development team leader by interacting with Plant locations and various engineering departments. Possessing High level understanding of Metal Cutting with proper hands-on experience.Conducts technical evaluations of major systems on competitive products. Coordinates product tests with prove design and prototype build up and test areas. Provides guidance to other engineers responsible for portions of the product project to ensure development schedules are met. Evaluates, defines, and resolves design and manufacturing problems. Travels to foreign and domestic plants, dealerships, and customer job sites to solve design problems or to field test locations to evaluate a product improvement. Uses technical expertise and product knowledge to play the leadership role in the problem resolution process when interfacing with Test and Evaluation, Service, Plant personnel, suppliers, and consultants. Works with manufacturability teams resolving problems with manufacturing and statistical process controls. Keeps abreast of latest technological advancements and prepares design concepts and develops unique product design features the Company often patents to gain competitive advantage. Travels worldwide to suppliers, production plants, dealerships, customer job sites, and field test locations related to the development of engineering projects and problem resolution.Develop test prototypes.Identify solutions to improve production efficiency.Use design software to develop models and drawings of new products.Supervise the manufacturing process of all designs.Coordinate with other engineers, management, and the creative departmentUnderstanding all the relevant standards/ practices and completion of design tasks.Working with Plants/ Cross-functional teams for continuous developmentMaintain existing engineering records and designs.Assess all engineering prototypes to determine issues or risks.Estimate cost limits and budgets for new designs.

Roles and responsibilities:
- For this role, the designer will be engaged in design and development of new and existing products/mechanical system. This will involve liaising with clients to fully understand project briefs, communicating with plant team ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Responsible for preparing bills of materials for the manufacture/fabrication of the designs and assemblies, including documenting of all part numbers, and drawing references.
- Work with shop floor from offshore to ensure quality design and point out potential quality issues. This will include creating reports for potential pitfalls in the development process.
- Product/system: Design and develop mechanical systems, sheet metal structures & assembly, and data centre cooling systems (sheet metal design).
- Interpret and understand technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication of Sheetmetal assembly.
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and project specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of materials used, time spent on projects, and any issues encountered during the fabrication process.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks is an essential requirement for this role, should demonstrate expertise in 3D modelling and parametric design using SolidWorks.
- Sheet metal design and fabrication processes within the SolidWorks environment. Creating detailed 2D drawings with accurate annotations and dimensions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- 3-6 years of hands-on experience in SolidWorks with EPDM (Preferred).
- Good in basic strength of material.
- Ability to read complex drawings
- Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail skill.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience in electronics cooling, data centre cooling, HVAC industry are preferred.
- Experience in Electro-Mechanical, design verification and validation are an advantage.
Work culture: Work closely with Clients (US & Europe) for design and development projects
