Role - PCB Designer

• Role Overview:

As a PCB (Printed Circuit Board) Designer, you will be responsible for designing and laying out the electrical circuits on printed circuit boards. Working in collaboration with electronic engineers and other stakeholders, you will contribute to the development of electronic products by creating efficient, reliable, and manufacturable PCB layouts.
• Required Skills and Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a PCB Designer.

- Proficiency in PCB design tools such as Altium, Eagle, or KiCad.

- Understanding of electrical schematics and circuit design principles.

- Knowledge of PCB manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability (DFM) guidelines.

- Familiarity with industry standards and compliance requirements.
• Key Responsibilities:

1. Schematic Capture:

- Create and review electrical schematics in collaboration with electronic engineers.

- Understand and translate design requirements into functional and efficient schematics.

2. PCB Layout:

- Design and layout PCBs using computer-aided design (CAD) tools such as Altium, Eagle, or KiCad.

- Optimize component placement, routing, and layer stackup for signal integrity, thermal management, and manufacturability.

3. Component Selection:

- Work closely with electronic engineers to choose appropriate components for the PCB design.

- Consider factors such as component availability, cost, and suitability for the application.

4. Design Verification:

- Perform design rule checks (DRC) and electrical rule checks (ERC) to ensure the design meets industry standards and specifications.

- Collaborate with the engineering team to validate and verify the functionality of the PCB design.

5. Documentation:

- Generate comprehensive design documentation, including PCB fabrication files, assembly drawings, and bill of materials (BOM).

- Maintain accurate records of design changes and updates.

6. Collaboration:

- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including electronic engineers, firmware developers, and product designers.

- Collaborate with PCB manufacturers to address any fabrication or assembly issues.

7. Stay Updated:

- Stay informed about industry trends, new technologies, and advancements in PCB design methodologies.
• Preferred Skills:

- Experience with high-speed digital design and RF PCB layout.

- Knowledge of EMI/EMC considerations in PCB design.

- Familiarity with IPC standards.

- Ability to perform signal integrity analysis.
• Education and Experience:

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.

- Proven work experience as a PCB Designer, with a portfolio of completed designs.
