Job Description:

We are looking for a talented COBOL Developer cum Support Engineer with experience in Mainframe AS400 and SQL. The candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining COBOL applications, providing support for existing systems, and ensuring smooth operation across platforms. This role demands a combination of technical development skills and support expertise, with a focus on legacy systems in a Mainframe AS400 environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• COBOL Development: Develop, modify, and maintain COBOL applications on the Mainframe AS400 platform.
• Application Support: Provide technical support for COBOL-based applications, including troubleshooting and resolving issues in a timely manner.
• SQL Integration: Write and optimize SQL queries to manage and retrieve data, ensuring seamless integration with COBOL programs.
• System Monitoring: Monitor application performance and system health, proactively addressing potential issues to prevent downtime.
• Incident Management: Handle support tickets and incidents, ensuring that issues are resolved efficiently and according to service level agreements (SLAs).
• Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation for applications, processes, and support procedures.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including QA, business analysts, and other developers to understand requirements and deliver solutions.

Skills and Qualifications:
• Technical Expertise:
• Strong experience in COBOL programming, particularly on Mainframe AS400 systems.
• Proficiency in SQL for database management and integration.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, supporting both development and operational needs.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in legacy system modernization.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes for incident management.
• Experience with performance tuning and optimization in Mainframe environments.
