Journeyman or 4th Year Carpenter|Site Supervisor with Commercial Experience

Job Description: As a Carpenter/Site Supervisor at Monument Developments, you will play a critical role in the execution and supervision of various commercial projects. Your responsibilities will include:
• Reading and fully understanding blueprints and project specifications.
• Laying out the project on the slab, including wall locations, electrical fixtures, and HVAC placements.
• Installing commercial door frames, hardware, and partition systems.
• Completing rough carpentry tasks, including steel stud wall framing and drywall repair.
• Performing finish carpentry, including custom millwork installation.
• Installing FRP and various wall coverings.
• Supervising all trades on-site daily, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the right personnel are present.
• Coordinating work between various trades and managing material take-offs.
• Completing daily hazard assessments and safety forms, submitting them digitally.
• Sending detailed digital reports to clients with photos, calling in site inspections, and coordinating with engineering teams for final turnover documents.
• Planning site activities throughout the week and ensuring tasks are completed efficiently.

Supervisory & Communication Style: Effective communication via email and text message is crucial for this role. Basic knowledge of commonly used technology is required, including sending photos via text or email, accessing building plans via phone or tablet, and using Google Drive. You will work independently with minimal supervision, necessitating:
• Self-sufficiency and the ability to work with little to no supervision.
• Logical decision-making and quick thinking on your feet.
• The capability to autonomously initiate and complete tasks.
• Consistent punctuality.
• The ability to propose solutions to problems and think critically.
• The ability to prioritize and escalate major issues while calmly managing day-to-day tasks.

Qualifications:
• Journeyman or 4th Year Carpenter with commercial experience.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience in rough carpentry, steel stud framing, drywall repair, finish carpentry, and custom millwork installation.
• Basic technical skills to navigate phone apps such as Procore, Sheets, Excel, and Adobe.
• First Aid Training is an asset.
• Project management experience is an asset.

Pay: $28.00-$35.00 per hour
