The OCS design engineer will be a member of DB Rail Electrification team and will contribute towards the designs of overhead line electrification projects of National and International railways . For this project in Bangalore, we are looking for a Design Engineer-OCS.

Responsibilities:
• Should have experience of working in overhead line electrification (flexible and/or rigid) designs for main line / metro rail projects of 1x25 and 2x25 kV AC single phase systems.
• Should have 8 to 10 years’ experience in designing of FOCS and/or ROCS (Flexible Overhead contact systems and/or Rigid Overhead Contract systems) on main lines / metro rail projects.
• Must have in-depth knowledge and awareness of all EN/IEC/TSI codes along with relevant railway codes.
• Should be conversant with all national/international railway standards applicable to overhead line electrification including earthing and bonding along with industry best practice in the same area.
• Understanding of railway design and the underlaying principles from feasibility/conceptual design to execution/construction design (including preliminary and detailed design).
• Ability to co-ordinate with all inter-disciplinary design requirements and eliminate design conflicts.
• Should be independently design and review the layout plans, cross sections, sectioning diagrams, electrical clearances, allocation design, earthing & bonding, and bill of quantities.
• Should be able to produce all OCS design solutions along with calculations for critical track geometry issues.
• Should be able to write reports and specifications.
• Should be able to independently produce all the design drawings on AutoCAD.
• Should have to maintain good quality of work within the agreed timelines.
• Should be able to assist the management in bids and tenders.
• Having experience in foot-to-foot OCS site survey is desirable qualification.
• Having experience in OCS/OLE design software’s is an added advantage.
• Having experience in 3rd rail and DC overhead electrification is an added advantage.
• Having experience in HAZID and CSM-RA is an added advantage.

Experience Required:
• A minimum of 8 to 10 years’ design experience in overhead line electrification (flexible/rigid) of railway projects.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree/Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• Hands on experience in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
• Hand on experience in all MS office suites.
• Effective communication skills
• Knowing German Language will be added advantage.
