Painter|Coater

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

As a Painter / Sandblaster at our Lloydminster, AB facility you will be responsible for internal and external blasting with abrasive media, coating, insulating and painting storage tanks, vessels, skids and piping.

Accountabilities :

Conform to quality control standards and construction specifications, drawings, sketches, layout boards, etc., and / or verbal instructions

Apply blasting materials to fabricated products

Operate and service all equipment associated with coating, painting and sandblasting

Use sandblasting equipment with specified media and applying epoxy primers and Urethane topcoats

Read, understand and follow working instructions / directions, policies, procedures

Attend daily production meetings, report status of jobs in progress

Maintain frequent contact with QC and Production to ensure all blasting and coating requirements are met

Follow the company safe work procedures and legislated safety requirements

Comply with all WHMIS and environmental regulations regarding the storage, use and disposal of hazardous chemicals

Prepare and / or apply industrial primer, paint, and / or industrial coatings (protective and decorative) to all parts of finished products and / or equipment

Operate brush or spray equipment as required and is responsible for proper storage and handling of all consumables, paints and painting supplies

Qualifications :

Sandblasting experience is preferred but will train the right candidate

Familiarity with tank, vessel and pipe coating

Ability to calculate values in Metric and Imperial

Ability to give and take clear direction; verbal and written

WHIMIS, H2S, Fall Protection, Confined Space training

Industrial painting experience or progression through a formal Painter Trade Certification

Use of handtools
