Job Description

Scott Springfield Mfg. Inc. (“SSM”) is a tier-1 supplier that offers scalable air handling solutions for commercial and industrial customers across North America. Supported by a network of independent sales agents across North America, SSM operates two production facilities within the Calgary area, with a third scheduled to open fall of 2026. To support its growth and expansion, SSM is looking to add an SNB Prima Operator to the Production team.

Essential Functions:

Responsible for maintaining and improving Assembly Line Standards and Takt Time performance by developing ways to mistake proof processes (i.e., Go/No Go Gauges, Visual Aides, etc.), supporting delivery and movement of parts. Performing kaizen type events (including video analysis) to eliminate non-value activities and improve productivity efficiency through Standard Work improvements.

Job Requirements:

· Use lean principles to streamline production areas with respect to quality, cost, equipment and materials efficiency through automation, new techniques, and applications.

· Evaluate Flow and Target needs for improvement.

· Driver in defining and establishing new Standard Work.

· Change agent - Train, coach and inspire operators and others to think and act Lean

· Share and/or solicit best practices from other plants.

· Continuous improvement with a focus on efficiency, safety, performance on the assembly line and assemblies.

· Collaboration with engineering, production

· Work with operators and line leaders on the 5S and ongoing improvements to program

-Labeling all tool boards, fixtures, stations and floors etc.

-Documenting before and after for all 5S improvements.

- Audits

· Update metrics as required.

· Preparing sketches of machinery or equipment for shop tooling, scale layouts, or new equipment design.

· Interpreting conventional, computer assisted, engineering designs, drawings, and specifications for machines.

· Assisting with technical project information such as drawings, BOMs etc.

Knowledge And Skills:

· Ability to design parts and fixtures for continuous improvement.

· Must be flexible and able to adapt quickly to change.

· Possess a can-do attitude with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

· Highly organized, detail orientated, and an ability to multi-task.

· Ability to adequately document design improvements for sharing throughout BAC.

· Must be able to lead kaizen type events (i.e., film analysis, time study, 5S Workshops).

· 3 to 5 years’ experience in product knowledge and construction of the specifics sites products.

· Working knowledge of computers including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases, i.e., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

· Quality orientation and high attention to detail.

· Good working knowledge of and be able to demonstrate Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques.

· Must be able to read and interpret drawings, use simple math, and use basic handheld measuring tools.

Qualifications:

· Postsecondary education or graduate of a technical program

· Engineering degree is not a must but is preferred.

· Previous experience in a manufacturing environment and proven experience with lean manufacturing methodologies

· Working knowledge of AutoCAD.

· Familiarity with design models.

· Experience in a manufacturing environment of at least 4 years.

· Advance Computer skills / Microsoft Office

· Lean knowledge and experience applying it ideally in a manufacturing environment.

· Attention to detail, ability to work independently and under pressure to meet tight deadlines

· Excellent organizational skills

· Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
