Job Description

Adecco is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Health & Safety Equipment Technician to join our team in Christina Lake, AB. This temporary to permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to work in the oil and gas industry, ensuring the safety and effectiveness of health and safety equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in equipment management, safety protocols, and emergency response.
• Location: Christina Lake, AB
• Shifts: 8 days on, 6 days off; 12 hours per day
• Job type: Temporary to permanent | Full-time

Responsibilities:
• Conduct regular inspections, calibrations, and tests on health and safety equipment.
• Maintain and manage inventory of H&S equipment and repair spares, reporting damaged or lost items.
• Keep accurate logs and documentation for all H&S equipment.
• Stay current with standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
• Support risk identification and mitigation as part of the safe work permitting process.
• Identify and document hazards in the work area.
• Attend and contribute to toolbox meetings and H&S team planning meetings.
• Act as a point of contact for third-party safety resources.
• Collaborate with Emergency Services to ensure effective emergency responses.
• Participate in emergency response exercises and events.
• Oversee the care and proper use of H&S equipment and provide mentorship.
• Attend required training certification courses.
• Operate testing devices to monitor air quality and document results.
• Act as the Safety Lead for special projects under the direction of H&S Advisors.

Requirements:
• Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
• Relevant certifications or training in H&S equipment (First Aid, H2S Alive, Confined Space Entry, Fall Protection).
• Experience managing and maintaining H&S equipment in industrial settings.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to respond effectively to emergencies.
• Valid driver's license.
