Permanent Full Time
$88,+60 pa (includes industry allowance and uniform allowance) + 12% super + a commuter use vehicle
Qld Local Government Industry Award (Stream A) - Level 4 of the EBA5
+ day fortnight
76 hour fortnight
Location: Burpengary - please note, this position will be moving to a Narangba location in the coming months.

About our opportunity

As our Civil Works Supervisor within the Roads and Drains team, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating and supervising the assigned crews undertaking civil construction and maintenance projects. This will include:

providing leadership and motivation to the civil works crew/s
managing the performance of engaged subcontractors delivering a suite of tasks related to construction projects
undertaking end to end construction procurement activities in accordance with Council policies and procedures
undertaking costing activities for construction in consultation with leaders
reading and interpreting complex construction documentation such as drawings, specifications, estimates and program scheduling to ensure effective delivery outcomes
About you

Ideally you will have demonstrated experience in a similar position managing and delivering a range of scheduled construction projects and experience leading people. You will have well developed people and day to day management skills as well as knowledge and practical experience of relevant construction materials, plant capacity and specifications and standards. Safety is a key priority for us as an organisation, and we will be seeking candidates who not only have the knowledge and physical ability to safely undertake the manual tasks required in this role, we want you to have a genuine desire to contribute to a positive safety culture.

Paired with the above mentioned skills and experience, you will also hold a tertiary qualification in Civil Construction, Project Management or another relevant field, a construction induction card and a C class drivers licence.
