Job Description

If you have been looking to work with a friendly and collaborative team to develop your HR practice, now is your chance to learn from an experienced team of HR professionals! Reporting to the Senior HR Business Partner, this position will see you joining a dedicated team of HR professionals to provide Human Resources advice and support to our managers and staff. Our team supports various Health facilities across the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, and Lower Hunter regions, including John Hunter Hospital, John Hunter Children’s Hospital, The New Maitland Hospital, Belmont Hospital, and Community Health Services.

The District consists of seventeen thousand people providing services to over +20,000 people, making this an exciting, broad, and fulfilling role for you to expand your HR knowledge and excel in your career whilst working in an ever-evolving industry. A team of dedicated HR professionals will support your development in the role. We care about what we do and strive to make a real, positive difference in the healthcare of our community.

About the position:

You will interact with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders with the aim of developing and maintaining strong working relationships. This is a true generalist role where typical duties may involve but are not limited to providing advice and interpreting awards, analysing and interpreting policies, industrial topics including grievances and investigations, general HR queries, partnering with managers to provide sound HR advice, providing coaching and mentoring to managers, and much more. While primarily based at Waratah, you will have the opportunity to get out and meet with the people we support.

About You:

You will have a strong team focus and are seeking an interesting, meaningful role. You will care about what you do and the community we support. Along with generalist HR experience and knowledge, you possess a passion for coaching and mentoring new and experienced managers. With sound report writing skills as well as outstanding verbal and written communication skills, you are adept at analysing and interpreting policy, procedures, and industrial awards to provide high level advice and support to managers.

Perhaps you’re looking for your next career move or ready to take the next step up in an HR Business Partner role within a large organisation? With this role, you will grow from an experienced HR professional by having a collaborative, supportive team around you. Come join us!
