The Opportunity

Working in small team of GPs and triage nurses, our After-Hours General Practitioners (AHGPs) perform a vital role providing the delivery of virtual GP telephone and video consultations across all age groups and a variety of clinical presentations. Callers have come via the Health Direct nurse triage service and are escalated if their symptoms and presentation warrant a medical review. The role operates within an approved scope of service and is designed to improve access to general practice services.



You will be provided with the equipment and technology to enable you to work from home – so this is a great flexible option to extend your career.



You will need to be able to work a minimum of 8 hours per week (we can offer up to 37.5 hrs per week) across 6pm to midnight on Monday to Friday and 10 am to midnight on Saturdays and some limited shifts on Sunday. Shifts can range from blocks of 2 to 8 hours.



This initial engagement is until 31st January 2026.



In addition, you will need the following tools to do your job:

Home Office – private space
Reliable internet connection with minimum speed of 50mbps Download and 20mbps Upload
The ability to to connect your laptop directly to your modem via the supplied ethernet cable
Be available for 2 full days paid virtual training on 4th & 5th September




About You

This role suits a Medical Practitioner with full AHPRA registration and a minimum 3 years full time equivalent experience working as a General Practitioner (at least 1 of these years must be spent in Australian General Practice).



As a virtual GP you will need to be comfortable communicating through audio and video mediums but also able to collaborate with your wider team through various digital tools and collaborative software such as MS Teams.
