About Us:

Equagen is a skilled engineering firm that offers innovative solutions in various sectors such as Power & Utilities, Infrastructure, and Industrial sectors, including transmission and substation projects. We are currently seeking a talented Substation Designer to join our team.

Responsibilities:
• Work closely with engineers and designers on high and medium voltage substation designs to develop General Arrangements, Electrical Equipment Plans, Section Views (Elevations), Detailed Bills of Material, Lightning Shielding Plans, Grounding Plans, Conduit Layouts, Electrical Connection and Grounding Details, Below Grade Conduit/Raceway Plans, and Control Building Equipment layouts, including Cable Tray, Lighting, and Grounding Plans and Sections.
• Interpret and integrate manufacturer/vendor information into design deliverables.

Qualifications:
• A Diploma in Drafting or a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology, along with 3+ years of coursework in drafting or equivalent technical experience.
• At least 4 years of experience in substation physical design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation; experience with Revit is an advantage.
• Familiarity with Bentley Substation Design.
• Strong knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles for creating technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
• Understanding of the practical application of engineering technology.
