Job Description
MassAffinity is an early-stage drug discovery company dedicated to leveraging innovative mass spectrometry (MS)-based platform technologies to tackle challenges in hit and target identification within drug discovery.
We are currently seeking a committed Research Assistant with a strong background in mass spectrometry/proteomics to join our team. This position is offered as a 6-month casual contract, with the possibility of extension.
Key Responsibilities
Within this role, your responsibilities will include:
Prepare protein samples for mass spectrometry analysis.
Analyse proteomic samples using mass spectrometers and HPLCs.
Perform data collection and analysis using mass spectrometry software and generate report summarising the findings.
Assist with administrative duties, including maintaining inventory and consumables.
About you
To be successful in this role, you should have:
A tertiary qualification in Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related discipline.
Experience with mass spectrometry techniques in the field of proteomics, with proficiency in QTOF and Orbitrap mass spectrometers (e.g., Thermo Orbitrap MS) being highly desirable.
Proficiency in developing liquid chromatography techniques, including HPLC
Able to work effectively in a team or independently.
Previous experience with mammalian cell culture is an advantage.
This position is open to candidates based in Brisbane, Melbourne, or Sydney, with a preferred location of Melbourne. Please note that there may be a potential requirement to travel to interstate labs as needed.
