Job Description

This successful food production company, based in Regional Victoria, has been a key player in the industry for over 30 years. The company operates a modern facility that specialises in the production of high-quality meals, salads, and processed vegetables. Known for supplying predominantly to retailers, the company is on a strategic path to expand its market presence.

Due to growth within the business, they are looking for an experienced Food technologist to join their team based in regional Victoria.

The role

As a Food Technologist you will focus on enhancing product shelf life and optimising ingredient use for taste while minimising costs. The position involves direct, hands-on engagement on the production floor, where the technologist will contribute to various tasks and processes. Responsibilities will include planning and developing recipes, adapting to seasonal changes, and creating new products in response to market trends.

The role will include driving continuous improvement initiatives and implementing innovative ideas. Collaboration is crucial, as the technologist will work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, production, and quality, while reporting to senior stakeholders.

Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree or above in a food-related field.
Demonstrated experience in ready meals and familiarity with Coles and Woolworths retailers are highly desirable.
A proactive approach to research and innovation, with a drive for creativity.
Practical experience in food production and a willingness to work directly with the production team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and program management systems.
