Unisys is seeking a skilled SQL Database Administrator to join our team!
In this role, you will serve as a subject matter expert for databases, providing essential support to various lifecycle teams including development, infrastructure, testing, and production. This position may require occasional travel to different locations across the UK and working outside of standard business hours, including on-call responsibilities.
Your Responsibilities:
• Proactively monitor, maintain, and optimize database performance for maximum server availability and troubleshoot any performance issues that arise.
• Develop and implement effective database alerts, ensuring prompt monitoring, response, and action to address potential problems.
• Diagnose and resolve performance and connectivity challenges within databases.
• Construct robust database environments aligned with industry best practices and operational requirements.
• Oversee the execution of database maintenance scripts for tasks such as backups, index rebuilds/defragmentation, and database statistics updates.
• Develop, maintain, and ensure the functionality of comprehensive backup and recovery procedures.
Essential Skills and Experience:
We are looking for a candidate with proven experience in database technologies and a strong understanding of SQL development and scripting tools.
