Job description
Pattern Design Expertise: Mastery of pattern design principles, techniques, and tools to create accurate and precise patterns for casting or machining processes.

Advanced proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD, Creo, or NX, to create 2D and 3D patterns. Casting Familiarity with casting simulation software, such as MAGMA Soft, ProCAST, or FLOW-3D Cast, to analyse and optimize casting processes, identify potential defects, and validate pattern designs.

Pattern Development: Skill in developing patterns for various casting methods, considering factors such as shrinkage allowances, draft angles, parting lines, gating systems, and core requirements.

Core Box and Core Mask Design: Proficiency in designing core boxes and core masks for creating sand cores used in casting processes, ensuring accurate core dimensions and proper assembly.

Job description
As Junior Mechanical Designer, you will be responsible for defined work or projects with moderate complexity.

In this role, JMD will follow an individual work plan, meet day to‐day short‐term objectives, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning. Working closely with project managers and manufacturing personnel during both design and fabrication stages.

1.Review design requirements, drawings and schedules to ensure customer

requirements are met.

2. Deliver technical solutions using defined processes as part of a team.

3. Develop and prepare engineering drawing package for customer approval and

fabrication.

4. Conduct basic assembly for prototype and golden sample.

5. Focused on developing expertise in a specific discipline or function.

6. Follows individual work plans to meet day‐today short‐term objectives.

7. Resolves issues through immediate action or short‐term planning.

8. Build technical depth in mechanical domain.

+. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

10. Ensure quality control, demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness.

11. Other duties as assigned.

12. Able to lift up to 15lbs; may work in hot areas 5%, noise 0%.

13. Ensure adherence to Health and Safety as well as active participation in 5S activities in

work area

The ideal Jr. Mechanical Designer will be a focused individual with mechanical and technical

aptitude, and an eye for details. Well organised and time focused.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in mechanical engineering

• 1-2 years experience in mechanical designing / drafting

• Basic Mechanical aptitude

• Excellent computer skills and MS Office intermediate proficiency

• Strong proficiency in Auto CAD

• SolidWorks knowledge an asset

• Experience with sheet metal component design

• Basic knowledge of electronics and electrical principles

• Ability to produce quality drawings at expected volume
