Systems Accountant - to £52,000 - Swindon, Wiltshire – Hybrid

We are on the lookout for a Systems Accountant to join an Educational client in the Swindon area. The successful candidate will be responsible for improving, maintaining, and updating the Planning and Finance systems as a key member of a fast-paced Finance Team. This opportunity can be offered on a hybrid basis with 2 days working from home.

Day to day responsibilities:
• Creating, managing and maintaining robust financial planning systems
• Improving reporting strategy, including creating, maintaining, and enhancing reports
• Use of management information system and other management reporting tools
• Operating within the policy framework set by CEO
• Supporting preparation in monthly management accounts
• Supporting external auditors where required
• Supporting ESFA of the Accounts Return and Budget Finance Returns
• Updating and maintaining accounting software
• Monitoring all changes from the ESFA, local councils and other sources
• Analysing costs and operation changes
• Updating the planning and financial systems with new cost centres and G/L codes

Requirements
• Finance Qualifications ideal (ACCA, ACA, CIMA)
• Solid experience in a specialist Systems Accountant role
• Planning Systems knowledge essential (IMP ideal)
• Advanced Excel Skills – the successful candidate will be tested at interview
• Live within 45 min commute of Swindon
