Manufacturing Consultant
Role summary
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Consultant in manufacturing/assembly to advise our team and provide expertise in optimizing our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of driving operational excellence, improving efficiencies, and implementing best practices in a manufacturing environment. This is a part-time position.
Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive assessments of plant operations, identifying areas for improvement and opportunities for cost savings.
Develop and implement strategies to streamline processes, enhance productivity, and reduce waste.
Collaborate with plant managers, supervisors, and cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide data-driven recommendations for performance optimisation.
Implement lean manufacturing principles, such as 5S, Kaizen, and Six Sigma methodologies, to enhance efficiency and quality.
Provide training and coaching to plant personnel on best practices, leadership, and management techniques.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental guidelines.
Develop and present comprehensive reports and presentations to stakeholders, including senior management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in plant management or operations consulting roles.
Proven expertise in lean manufacturing, process improvement methodologies, and operational excellence practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable solutions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in project management and change management principles.
Willingness to travel to client sites as required.
