Hybrid

Up to £41,500 per annum DOE + Bonus + 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays + Life Assurance + Pension

Monday to Friday

An experienced Development Engineer sought for a leading global manufacturing company based in North Somerset. The main responsibilities of the Development Engineer are to define and refine the product requirements, manage the product roadmap and oversee the development process.

The role will be suited to someone who is experienced with product development methodologies including design, validation and manufacturing transition. As well as a strong understanding of safety assessments, compliance standards and regulations.

The Role:
• Participate in HAZOP/DFMEA studies
• Carry out record risk assessments as required in the execution of a project.
• Support the introduction of new products.
• Type testing and compliance testing of designs, including design of experiment.
• Design and develop all mechanical aspects of a product range and participate in design reviews.
• Escalate any technical risks to the senior development engineer.
• Perform engineering calculations and undertake medium to complex FEAs in support of the design.

Experience & Skills
• A minimum 2:2 Engineering degree or demonstrated industry experience with other engineering qualifications
• Proficiency in electrical and mechanical design concepts and system testing.
• Familiarity with safety assessments, compliance standards, and regulations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in product development methodologies, including requirements gathering, design, validation, and manufacturing transition.
• Experience with system characterisation, testing, and failure analysis techniques.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Influencing, communication, presentation and negotiating skills, both internally and externally
