Qualifications
If only a BS in Bio or Chem requires at least 1 year of previous medical lab experience
Associate degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements
A minimum of 2-4 years of clinical laboratory testing experience is required
A State Medical Technician license may be required (will be listed in the requirement if it’s needed)
Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials

Responsibilities
Shift: 3rd Shift, 4 days x 10 hours schedule, 10:30 pm to 7 am
Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving
Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls
Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care
Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
Identify and replenish testing bench supplies, as necessary
Assist with processing of specimens when needed
Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
Job description
Pride Health is hiring for a Medical Lab Technician to support our client’s medical facility based in Grosse Pointe Woods, MI. This is a full-time contract of 6+ months with high possibilities of extension or conversion to permanent opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Position: Medical Lab Technician

Shift: 3rd Shift, 4 days x 10 hours schedule, 10:30 pm to 7 am

Note:
• Generalist experience [COAG, HEM, UA, Blood bank, etc] preferred.
• ASCP certification preferred.
• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in chemical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology – Also Open to MLT associates degree but BSMT preferred, CLS or MLS degree accepted. If only a BS in Bio or Chem requires at least 1 year of previous medical lab experience.
• A minimum of 1 year of Laboratory experience is required for the Technologist level and 2+ years of core lab experience is highly preferred.
