Embedded Software Engineer

Job description
A hugely exciting opportunity for an experienced Software Developer to join a start-up in Cambridge, and transition into the cutting-edge and futuristic area of quantum computing. Working across the stack, we are looking for a software professional proficient in C++ who understands embedded technology.

This forward-thinking, highly diverse company welcomes applicants requiring part-time working.

Location: Cambridge, UK - hybrid working, 3 days in office.

Salary: £40,000 - £63,000 per annum (more for a Senior hire)

Requirements for Embedded Software Engineer / Developer:
• At least 2 years of commercial experience in a software engineering position
• Excellent academics including a 2.1 or 1st class honours STEM degree and at least AAB at A Level
• Proficient in C++ in an embedded context
• Scripting ability in Python
• An understanding of the mechanics of how hardware executes software instructions
• Natural ability to quickly pick up and learn new technologies
• Great communication skills

Responsibilities for Embedded Software Engineer / Developer:
• Develop and build embedded software components
• Develop and build other tools related to embedded components including simulators and low-level compilers
• Verify and benchmark system correctness and performance
• Collaborate with teams across the business to understand the requirements of the systems
